چکیده

AbstractObjectives There remains no consensus on what constitutes an adequate margin of resection for non-infiltrative soft-tissue sarcomas (STSs). We aimed to investigate the role margins in millimetres STSs. Methods 502 patients who underwent surgical a localized, non-infiltrative, high-grade STSs were studied. The prognostic significance width was analysed and compared with conventional R- R+1-classification margins. Results overall local recurrence (LR) rate 13%; 9% 27% negative positive margins, respectively (p < 0.001). In LR rates greater than 10% ≤5.0 mm but reduced less 4% >5.0 mm. When classified by (or R+1)-classification, 5-year cumulative incidence 8%, 23% (16%), 31% R0, R1, R2, respectively, which did not stratify risk On other hand, accurate stratification possible metric distance; 29%, 10%, 1% 0 mm, 0.1–5.0 This classification also stratified or without adjuvant radiotherapy. Conclusion While is essential optimize control STSs, 5 minimises failure regardless use

Comparative pathology of canine soft tissue sarcomas: possible models of human non-rhabdomyosarcoma soft tissue sarcomas.

Comparative analyses of canine and human soft tissue sarcomas (STSs) are lacking. This study compared the histological and immunohistochemical (labelling for desmin, smooth muscle actin [SMA], CD31, pancytokeratin, S100 and CD34) appearance of 32 archived, formalin-fixed, paraffin wax-embedded canine STS tumour specimens by board-certified veterinary and medical pathologists, both blinded to th...

Superficial Soft-Tissue Sarcomas Rarely Require Advanced Soft-Tissue Reconstruction following Resection

Objective Soft-tissue sarcomas are most frequently located deep within myofascial compartments. Superficial soft-tissue sarcomas (S-STS) are relatively less common and may be managed differently than deep sarcomas because generous resection margins are often possible without sacrificing critical structures. We sought to investigate the frequency and types of soft-tissue reconstructive procedure...

Soft Tissue Sarcomas

Soft tissue sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of malignant neoplasms of mesenchymal origin. They account for approximately 1% of all cancer diagnoses and 7% of pediatric malignancies (1,2). Just over half of these patients eventually succumb as a result of the disease. Soft tissue sarcomas typically present as asymptomatic large masses within the retroperitoneum or the proximal lower limbs but...

Soft-tissue Sarcomas

This article discusses the epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of primary soft-tissue sarcomas (STS). These musculoskeletal tumors are a rare and heterogeneous group of malignancies, which are best managed by multidisciplinary teams in specialist sarcoma referral centers. Historically, the standard for local control of these tumors has been amputation. Evolutions in multimodality treatment ...

Soft tissue sarcomas of vulva.

Fifteen cases of vulvar sarcomas were studied. The most common neoplasm was leiomyosarcoma, which also had the least favorable prognosis with a tendency to develop local recurrences and disseminated hematogenous metastases. The second most frequent sarcoma belonged to the fibrous histiocytoma group. Although they are unpredictable, they tended to be less aggressive than the leiomysarcomas. Othe...
